The 28-year-old moved from FC Porto to Anfield in January 2022. And has yet to renew his contract with the club.
Diaz has attracted interest from several top European clubs, led by Barcelona. As well as teams from the Saudi Pro League.
Diaz, whose current deal runs until June 2027, has been keen on signing a new deal since last year. With his camp believing that his performances this season would prompt Liverpool to extend his contract.
While the Reds remain open to the idea, negotiations have yet to progress despite ongoing discussions with other parties.
Diaz’s agents have reportedly made Liverpool aware of Barcelona’s interest, but the Spanish giants are not the only ones monitoring his situation. Clubs from Italy and the Saudi Pro League are also keeping close tabs on the 28-year-old.
The Colombian’s contract expires in two years, and Liverpool are trying to avoid having the player enter the final year of his contract.
When Diaz’s contract expires, he will be 30 years old, so the chances of the “Reds” offering him a contract that he is satisfied with may not be high.
